Meet the Programming SubCommittee, EOC Video, Membership Giveaway, & Digital Condition Webinar ARCS Update Vol 6 | Update 5
March 8, 2021 | ARCS NewsMeet the Programming SubCommitte
The programming subcommittee is the volunteer-run committee of ARCS responsible for bringing the ARCS membership educational programming via webinars and hands-on workshops. Due to COVID, the programming subcommittee has shifted to online programming, but hopes to soon transition back to some in-person programming!
This month the programming subcommittee has a webinar scheduled for March 25 on Digital Condition Reporting, as well as a three-part webinar series on Leadership scheduled to start in the spring. The programming subcommittee is hard at work planning a packed schedule of programming for the next fiscal year. Some of the topics we will explore include resources for contract registrars, professional-skills development, and emergency preparedness topics. We want to cover topics that are important to the members of ARCS, so if you have ideas for future programming, please reach out to us at info@arcsinfo.org. We would love to hear from you!

#ARCSchat "Dragon Psychology 102"
Recorded in December and released as a podcast, we now present the video of #ARCSchat's critique of a podcast about the deaccessioning trends that have become too familiar lately. In our version of the conversation, however, we deconstruct the Revisionist History podcast "Dragon Psychology 101" by Malcolm Gladwell.
Our panel includes Robin Cooper, the Manager of Curatorial Affairs at the Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields, and Nicholas O’Donnell, Partner at the law firm Sullivan & Worcester in Boston, who argued on behalf of the museum membership in the now landmark Berkshire Museum deaccession case and recently presented in front of the US Supreme Court.
